Unlike previous tools of its kind, the Puzzle Pirates Trade Profiteer is a complete desktop application. There is no server at all. This also means that it's fast because you don't have to wait for the data to upload anywhere, nor do you have to worry about a touchy Internet connection (or out-of-date or incompatible web browser). You'll find many of the features familiar to users of other tools. Primarily, there is the ability to read in the commodity data to determine what can be bought and sold for profit. LimitationsFor various technical reasons, Puzzle Pirates must be running under version 5 (also known as 1.5) of the Java Runtime Environment for the OCR functionality to work. See the menu at the left for a link to an article describing how to set this up. We are actively working to find a workaround to this so that it will work no matter on which version of the Java Runtime Environment you are running Puzzle Pirates. And it won't involve a toggle button for font smoothing... System RequirementsThis application is designed to run on Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems. It will not install or run on Windows 2000 or older systems. LicenseThis application will be available free of charge, but I am not anticipating making it open source.
